Great discussion about Spot.Us.com

Spot.us of the websites I cited here as a new business model for news appeared on James Rainey's column for the L.A. Time.

This is the response by David Cohn, founder of Spot.us, to Rainey's critique:

  1. Hey - thanks for pointing out the response.

I think we are learning a lot as we go. It's been three/four months and we've got a lot on our plate.

But I look forward to eating as much of it as we can.

  2. No problem. I think you have a great initiative there! I know, as you said, it is not perfect, but I don't believe we will find that ONE perfect bizmodel for journalism online. Actually, I believe the solution is to diversify as much as we can so we will always have someone covering the story we can't.

  4. That's true. Check what Jim Stovall, journalism professor at the University of Tennessee, say about these changes in my new post.
